SAP BASIS Administration

Must be able to acquire DoD “Secret” security clearance

Position Description:

You will be responsible for bringing deep expertise in the areas of:

  • SAP Landscape Architecture
  • Sizing including SAP HANA
  • SAP Upgrades and Migrations
  • Technical Project Planning
  • SAP System Administration
  • Experience in architecting and planning SAP Upgrade and database migration projects
  • Excellent track record of delivering SAP upgrades, migrations and other Basis related projects
  • Strong consulting background in providing both technical delivery and advisory services in a senior role
  • Deep SAP Product and architectural knowledge. Evidence of thought leadership in this domain is preferable
  • ‘Real world’ SAP HANA Experience (At least one HANA project which wasn’t a proof of concept)
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build ‘Trusted Adviser’ relationships

Although not required, SAP Certification in one or more of the above subjects would be advantageous.

As well as delivery, you will be expected to keep abreast of changes within this space and provide this insight to our clients in a thought-leadership role.

A key focus within this position will be helping our customers to understand how to transform their existing systems to both the SAP HANA and S/4HANA Platforms. In addition, helping customers migrate systems to between hosting providers.

Skills and Experience

  • Senior SAP BASIS Administrator to support operation and further enhancements of SAP ERP (ECC, BI, BW, GRC, EP, HANA)
  • Prepares and presents status briefings to the client’s senior executives on approach and courses of action
  • Provide support across the SAP application suite to include Central Component (ECC), Business Intelligence (BI), Business Warehouse (BW), Enterprise Portal (EP) and Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC)
  • Utilize advanced SAP administration and troubleshooting techniques to complete complex assignments or to solve difficult problems
  • Operational support and guidance to internal Development teams
  • Daily system administration tasks
  • Daily system monitoring
  • Analyze System trace and perform troubleshooting
  • Longer range administrative task: Capacity planning,  Data retention, Disaster recovery
  • Effective and efficient management of SAP HANA Systems
  • Performance tuning and proactive recommendation
  • Support packages & test system installation
  • Mentors, coaches and supports other members of IT team to improve technical abilities
  • Keep abreast of the latest SAP technologies, and enhancements.
  • Researches and implements enhancements and new technologies as required
  • Provides technical support for implementation of SAP-based technology like CUA, Identity Management (IdM), Single Sign-On, and SAP GRC
  • Identifies trends in reported security violations and recommend changes in policies, procedures, or user training/awareness to address unfavorable trends
  • Gathers requirements from internal clients and provide security and technical expertise to support the development of security objects to satisfy business requirements
  • Develops security objects that meet business requirements while adhering to the principle of least privilege
  • Provide implementation, test, and other support in the SAP environments during upgrades and/or implementation of support packages
  • Support after-hours scheduled downtime for maintenance and upgrades

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of  Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business Administration, or other related scientific or technical discipline is required
  • Minimum of 10 years SAP Basis experience with SAP systems installation and administration with three or more of the following SAP modules: ECC, CRM, BI, BW, or GRC
  • The ability to communicate politely, clearly and effectively and persuade and/or influence internal customers at a high level such as senior management on matters of a technical issues
  • Must possess excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment with minimal guidance
  • SAP BASIS/HANA administration and technical core competencies for tasks including installations and upgrades, problem determination and resolution, software patching, support package application, performance tuning, and project sizing
  • Proven track record using analytical skills to evaluate system performance, system health checks, and implementation of tuning improvements
  • Experience with security concepts and User/Role administration across all SAP products
  • Have working knowledge of the transport management system (TMS)
  • Ability to identify, develop, standardize, and document operational processes
  • Possess deep understanding  of IT Security principal, Networking and infrastructure architecture to support clients in achieving clean cloud IT Operational Audits
