SAP ILM Archiving Specialist
Thorben Consulting is seeking a skilled and motivated SAP ILM Archiving Specialist with 3-10 years of hands on experience to lead the development, testing, implementation, and support of SAP Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) and SAP Archiving with OpenText, while driving the modernization efforts for our federal client. This role is ideal for a professional with deep expertise in SAP Archiving solutions, particularly with OpenText, who thrives in managing complex projects and optimizing SAP systems for efficiency, compliance, and innovation.
As the SAP ILM Archiving Specialist, you will be at the forefront of implementing and enhancing SAP Archiving strategies. You will ensure seamless integration and system performance while aligning solutions with client requirements and industry best practices. Your ability to manage multiple priorities, streamline processes, and optimize workflows will be key to your success in this role.

Responsibilities:
● Provide hands-on support for SAP archiving configurations, troubleshooting system issues, and assisting with third-party solutions like OpenText/IXOS, FileNet, and Cloud storage platforms.
● Collaborate with business process owners and IT teams to analyze business needs and design, blueprint, and implement Data Archiving Objects, as well as efficient archiving storage and retrieval processes.
● Design, build, and configure SAP Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) applications to meet specific business process and application requirements.
● Leverage strong technical knowledge of SAP archiving configurations to support reporting requirements and ensure seamless data management.
● Develop comprehensive test plans, conduct integration testing, and oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for archiving solutions.
● Provide guidance and demos to users during UAT, ensuring smooth adoption of both archiving and reporting features.
● Lead change management initiatives, driving system enhancements and changes through the appropriate processes.
● Troubleshoot system performance issues, identifying and resolving technical challenges effectively.
● Apply strong analytical skills to solve practical problems, engaging cross-functional teams to achieve consensus and deliver solutions.
Requirements:
● Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is required.
● Extensive experience in SAP Basis, with a strong focus on data archiving.
● Proficient knowledge of SAP data archiving tools and technologies, including SARA, ILM, DART, SAP Content Server, OpenText, and SAP IQ.
● In-depth understanding of ILM Data Archiving, including ILM destruction, DART, SAP Content Server, ABAP, and third-party solutions such as OpenText/IXOS, FileNet, and Cloud solutions, including Cloud storage configurations. Practical experience in user support is essential.
● Hands-on experience with migration to SAP Data Archiving across various versions of SAP.
● Expertise in data archiving, both in ILM and non-ILM environments, is required.
● Functional expertise in one or more SAP Application components, particularly Data Tiering/Native Storage Extension.
● Experience with S/4 HANA or ECC, specifically in at least one functional module.
● Technical expertise in SAP Basis, NetWeaver, and Dual-Stack environments.
● Experience with the SAP HANA database is a significant advantage.
● Strong functional knowledge in FI/CO and Logistics.
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are mandatory.
